Hemp and Health
- Maria Collins
While the concept of health is important for individuals, it is difficult to promote a healthy lifestyle when a disease is present. Defining health as the absence of illness or disease symptoms, for example, excludes the entire segment of the population. But in fact, if we were to use this definition, we would be able to promote a healthier lifestyle for the entire population. A common mistake is to consider disease-free status as the hallmark of good health. This definition does not take into account the ability to function and the capacity to deal with the stress of daily life.
To ingest hemp oil, simply grind the seeds. You can store them in an airtight container. Once open, you should store them in a refrigerator. Hemp products are generally safe for consumption as part of a healthy diet. However, you should avoid consuming products made from hemp because they contain anti-nutritional compounds that affect mineral absorption. For example, a 2020 review of the benefits of CBD and hemp seed oil found that the seeds have high levels of phytic acid, a substance that prevents the absorption of iron.
There are several forms of CBD. Isolate, for instance, contains only the CBD compound. A full-spectrum oil, on the other hand, contains multiple components from the cannabis plant, including flavonoids, terpenes, and chlorophyll. While CBD isolate is more potent, the full-spectrum oil is more natural and has more compounds. Some studies show that CBD is more effective for treating anxiety and depression than THC.
